Finally, the wait is over! South Africa has won a major ICC trophy after 27 long years. In the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25, South Africa defeated Australia at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Historic Run Chase at Lord’s:

This was the second-biggest run chase ever at Lord’s.

  • 1984: West Indies chased 342 vs England.
  • 2025: South Africa chased 282 vs Australia.
  • 2004: England chased 282 vs New Zealand.

South Africa’s Tough Journey:

In the first innings, South Africa bowled first and dismissed Australia for 212. Kagiso Rabada took key wickets.

But South Africa’s batting failed they made only 138 runs. Australia gained a 74-run lead. Pat Cummins took 6 wickets.
