Karan Johar shared that he sees both Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Aditya Chopra as mentors who have played a pivotal role in shaping his personal and professional journey.

He said he owes everything he is to them, and no matter where life takes him, he’ll always see himself as Aditya’s assistant and Shah Rukh’s younger brother.

Karan Johar says Aryan Khan is like his first born

Reflecting more on his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Karan Johar shared, “Shah Rukh, Gauri, and their kids — Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam — truly feel like my own family. Aryan, in fact, feels like my first child in many ways.

I still remember holding him as a baby in a London park, singing to him — even though I can’t sing at all. Yet, we both remember that moment and the song. So now, watching him step into direction amazes me. Seeing Suhana prepare for her role in King leaves me in awe too.”

Karan Johar wants Yash and Roohi to be like Aryan and Suhana

Karan went on to say, “When I look at Aryan and Suhana, I’m amazed by how much effort they’ve put into becoming the individuals they are today. They’re determined to build their own identities, stepping out of the enormous shadow of their father’s legendary status.

Their drive and ambition are truly inspiring, and it fills my heart with pride. I genuinely hope my kids, Yash and Roohi, grow up to be like them — not just in terms of success, but as people. Gauri and Shah Rukh have raised them to be such grounded, kind, and hardworking individuals — a rare mix of humility and ambition.”
