Ather, one of India’s biggest electric two-wheeler companies, is soon launching a low-cost electric scooter. The company has already filed a patent for the design of this new model.
New Budget Scooter Coming Soon
This new scooter will be built on Ather’s new EL platform, which the company has confirmed. It will be placed below the current Ather Rizta model, so the price and features will be lower.
New Design Details
According to the patent, the scooter will have a rectangular headlight with a shroud (cover) around it. It will use LED lights, probably two LED units. It will also have LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

This will be Ather’s first scooter with a headlight on the handlebar. Earlier models like Rizta and 450 series had headlights on the front body.
Ather’s Current Cheapest Scooter – Rizta
Right now, Ather’s lowest-priced scooter is Rizta, priced between ₹1.10 lakh and ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with two battery options – 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh.
- With the small battery: 123 km range
- With the big battery: 159 km range
- It uses the same motor as the Ather 450S.
- Speed: 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.7 seconds
- Top speed: 80 km/h

Charging Time
- The 2.9 kWh battery takes about 5 hours 45 minutes to charge up to 80%.
- The 3.7 kWh battery supports fast charging with Ather Grid – gives 15 km range in just 10 minutes.
