What were reportedly Deepika Padukone’s demands for working in Spirit?

According to sources cited by News18, Deepika Padukone reportedly demanded ₹25 crore for around 35 days of shooting, a 10% profit share, and extensive entourage expenses. Additionally, she was said to be unwilling to deliver her dialogues in Telugu—a key point the director insisted on.

According to the report, Sandeep Reddy Vanga “believes actors should speak their own lines.” The source clarified that, contrary to rumors, Deepika’s limited filming schedule of under 8 hours a day was never the main issue.

In filmmaking, working hours vary depending on factors like location, lighting, and scene requirements—you might shoot for 2 hours or 8 hours on any given day. What truly matters, the source said, is flexibility, collaboration, and respect for the craft. Director Sandeep emphasizes that actors delivering their own dialogues adds authenticity and strengthens the emotional connection with the audience.

About Deepika leaving Spirit

Last month, Deepika Padukone exited the film Spirit, and Triptii Dimri stepped in as her replacement. Soon after, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted a sharp message on X (formerly Twitter) that seemed to criticize Deepika without naming her directly.

He appeared to condemn what he called “dirty PR games” and accused someone of “putting down a younger actor.” This came shortly after a Pinkvilla report revealed details about the film’s storyline.

Deepika, who recently became a mother, reportedly requested to limit her working hours to eight per day so she could spend time with her daughter, Dua. When these conditions weren’t met, she chose to leave the project. Despite some initial backlash labeling her demands as “unprofessional,” she received widespread support from fans online.
