Singer Rahul Vaidya stirred controversy last month after making a remark seemingly aimed at Virat Kohli, suggesting the cricketer had liked a post about Avneet Kaur. Following this, Rahul said Kohli blocked him and that he and his family were subjected to online abuse from the cricketer’s fans.

In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Rahul revealed that Virat’s brother, Vikas Kohli, contacted him and questioned why he had mentioned Virat’s name in the first place.

During the conversation, Rahul Vaidya shared in Hindi, “After everything happened, his brother said a few things to me. He told me, ‘It’s better if you focus on your singing.’ This was the same Vikas Kohli who once met me outside a stadium in Manchester and had complimented my singing.

But I understand how such controversies can affect a person’s family too. He wasn’t happy with how things unfolded, which is why he spoke to me that way.”

Rahul further shared what Vikas Kohli told him: “He asked, ‘Why are you talking about Virat? Why are you trying to gain publicity?’ It was something along those lines—I don’t remember his exact words. Then he added, ‘It would be better if you focused on your singing.

I know Vikas is a good person, and I didn’t take anything he said to heart. The real issue is that people often react without understanding the full situation.

For those who may not know, the controversy began when Rahul Vaidya made a remark that appeared to hint at Virat Kohli liking a post related to Avneet Kaur. Following this, Rahul claimed that Virat blocked him on Instagram. Soon after, he said he started receiving abusive messages from Kohli’s fans and even took to his Instagram Stories to say,

“Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!” However, a few days later, Rahul revealed that Virat had unblocked him. He went on to thank the cricketer and praised him, calling him “one of the greatest batsmen” in the history of the game.
